My Easter Song

Ok, Here’s the scoop… I don’t believe in evangelism and also don’t promote church attendance even though many see attendees as my dads source of income. It’s not. My dad is cared for and provided for by God. Just as the rest of creation. This is what bothers me… Show offs, hence the reference to bonnets, and [...]

An Important Song… In the past & now again.

They say that these are not the best of times But they’re the only times I’ve ever known And I believe there is a time for meditation In cathedrals of our own Now I have seen that sad surrender in my lovers’ eyes I can only stand apart and sympathize For we are always what our situations hand us It’s either sadness [...]

Musician Sites & Non-Musicians

Well, I found another place to hang out and it’s just my size. Musician’s Home. Before you roll your eyes, please hear me out… Most musician sites are polluted with music fans. Don’t get me wrong, fans are great (me personally? I’m not a fan, I’m an interested participant) and I have nothing against them (other [...]

Email Trash and McD’s Reputation

I don’t get a lot of junk mail and I like it that way. I do, however, receive forwarded mail from friends which I have to read (they are from friends don’t ya know). A couple days ago I got one about McDonalds and the source of their beef. I was going to pass it along [...]

Relationship Re-building with Cuba

There is a positive move toward relationship re-building with Cuba. Here’s a letter to sign and a site to see. I believe it’s past time to repair our history with our neighbors and (see the signatures for yourself) I am not alone. Here’s the plea from: http://www.cubaresearch.info/cubaletter As citizens, artists, scholars, educators and cultural workers from all artistic practices, academic [...]

Bio?

When I was 11 years old, on the ride home from Camp Concordia, my dad told me he thought I should take guitar lessons. I wanted to play the Uke like my Grandpa Deater (he played lots of instruments but that was my favorite).
Well, I agreed to the lessons, 7 in all before we had to leave our home town, Muskegon, to follow my dads calling to become a minister.
The guitar has been my constant friend, a gift my dad inspired and has supported all these years. I've played in churches, coffee houses and bars, solo and in bands but most importantly in my home and the homes of friends hopefully inspiring others the way my dad did me.

Hi there Jack!
Nice song and a mighty fine Guitar man!
I once had a Seagull12string years ago, and I really miss it!
Cant remember who took off with that one, its years ago.
I'm looking For a New 12string here, but thy are hard to find
in the Philippines. Next week I´ll go trough a few guitar factories
here. There is a “Guitar City” In Mactan and I probably find some one
who can Custom make one for me!
Take care = Billy =
