Jeff Beish said… Ronnie,
I wrote to you back in 2010 about Okinawa and you commented on when you wee at Naha Air Base in the 1960’s. I was there from late 1960 until mid-1962 and used to sit in with the “country” band at the Airmen’s Club on some Saturday afternoons. That was back when I could play the guitar, so we would do some Chuck Berry and other contemporary rock stuff so the airmen would drink up lots of beer J That band had an Okinawan drummer and can’t remember the bass, but the lead guitar player was really good but I have lost his name in my old memory. While I ran into a lot of really great axe players over the years, but that guy was exceptional and hopefully he went on to a higher calling. Is there a way to track down what bands played at both Naha and Kadena over those years?
Thanks,
Jeff
