London rockabilly history. A modest proposal for Duke Sedan & other keepers of the flame Posted: 2008-06-24 07:39:12 Last updated: 2008-06-24 07:39:12

One of my deepest & most beautiful dreams is to see how much London rockabilly we could revive. (Yours, too, no doubt - & why not? From the 1950s, we have rockabilly or its cousins in… Continue

Ronnie,

I wrote to you back in 2010 about Okinawa and you commented on when you wee at Naha Air Base in the 1960’s.  I was there from late 1960 until mid-1962 and used to sit in with the “country” band at the Airmen’s Club on some Saturday afternoons.  That was back when I could play the guitar, so we would do some Chuck Berry and other contemporary rock stuff so the airmen would drink up lots of beer J  That band had an Okinawan drummer and can’t remember the bass, but the lead guitar player was really good but I have lost his name in my old memory.  While I ran into a lot of really great axe players over the years, but that guy was exceptional and hopefully he went on to a higher calling. Is there a way to track down what bands played at both Naha and Kadena over those years?

Thanks,

Jeff

Someone had told me that Bob Reilly from dirk rivers band lives in Nashville Tn. He said in another post that he does not have any friends and that he only talks to Bob Vogel. This is sad he seemed like a cool guy years ago.
