Big Daddy Fox's Album

Posted on December 23, 2009 at 11:46pm 0 Comments

Hi EveryBody,

I have added 6 songs to My Music from Big Daddy Fox's Album,
Sum-Bit-Chu', which was recorded at my studio >Avian Studios.
The Album was engineered and mixed by me and Mastered by my friend and partner Chris Robbins. The really important stuff was done by Big Daddy and his crew. I hope everyone will give them a listen.
ENJOY!

Hi Fonz,

Glad to hear you got your enthusiasm for recording back. Digital recording is definitely a whole different animal than tape. Tape is so much more forgiving when it comes to signal overloading. When you overload or distort digital, it is horrible and un-useable. When you distort tape it's called pleasing tape saturation. However the upside of digital is, if a person can't play very well, you can get a few measures of a performance from them and then copy and paste the rest till you have a performance. The editing part of digital is wonderful, however what artistic price do you pay for technology.
I'm 32 track through a console right to the computer. We're a full service recording studio here. If you get a chance and you're interested, why don't you come by and see my studio sometime. It would nice to see you and chat for a while.
Have a great day.

Jim

Been so long that I've done any recording myself that I lost my enthusiasm till I recently recorded at Leroy Goldens 24 track digital studio. Last time I recorded was "90's" something on a 16 track reel-to-reel. I can now appreciate everything that goes into digital recording. Blows the mind...............

Hey Jim, I see what you mean now about the "clarity" and everything being transparent. Sounds good. Good group too.
